Acting out our lesson!

The fourth and fifth graders developed skits to illustrate our character development lesson of respect.  They had a great time and learned a lot.

Technology Rules!

The fourth grade enjoys using technology to further their social studies lesson.  It just makes learning more fun.

Hands On Science

The fourth graders experimented with hands on science tools in a recent lab.  They measured weight with a spring scale, compared masses with a pan balance and used a hand lens to investigate small items.  They enjoyed comparing their classroom items with the science tools.

Time for School!

Set you alarm clock and pack your lunch.  August 13 is the first day of school!  I am so excited to see you all.  Parents, please join us for chapel at 8:10!  See you tomorrow.

Field Day FUN!!!!!!

Great students!  Great games!  Great weather!  Field Day was a huge success.

Chances Are ........

During math, the fourth graders investigated Probability.  After making predictions, we used dot cubes to collect data on frequency.  Each student rolled the dot cube 36 times and collected individual data which we then summarized as a class.  Did they have fun?  Probably!

Lab Activity!

The fourth grade students used pan balances, gram cubes and a variety of objects to explore mass.  They had tons of fun!

Working on the Science Fair!

The fourth graders used the CLS iPads to work on research for their science fair paper.  Due Friday, they are working hard to finish.

Never fear.....the Science Fair is here. 
I saw this on Facebook and had to share.  I hope your science fair experience will not be like this.  Your student brought home their Science Fair Proposal Form today.  Discuss it with them and make sure to sign the form and return it by Friday.  Happy Science Fairing!

Ringing in the Olympics

Today during Olympic Fun time, the fourth grade learned about the symbolism of the Olympic Rings.  Ask a fourth grader to tell you the meaning behind the symbol.

Olympic Fun!

The fourth grade celebrated the beginning of the Olympics by creating their own Olympic torch - not with real fire (insert disappointed face here!)  We will spend time next week learning about the history of the Olympics and participating in many fun activities.  Go Team USA!!

Pep Rally and Grandparent's Day

The fourth graders enjoyed spending time with their grandparents today.  After a guided tour of CLS (provided by their grandchildren), we filled the gym and showed our CLS pride with a Pep Rally.  As always, Flash was a huge hit!  Congratulations to Jennifer for winning the Spirit Poster contest!
